The Winejester, located in the thriving arts community of North Tennyson Street in the Berkeley Neighborhood, is a small but very complete, full service wine shop. Our selection covers all ranges of price and styles of wines. Our friendly staff members are always happy to offer helpful assistance when you are looking for that perfect bottle of wine. In addition to fine wines, we are pleased to offer a boutique selection of beer and spirits from around the world.
Visitors to The Winejester are often delighted with our large selection of wine-related gifts and gadgets, located in our “Sun Room”, many of which are hand crafted by local artists, including our own Chris Smith!
Visit The Winejester on Friday and Saturday afternoon from 3:00-7:00 pm for our weekly in-store wine tastings, as they are both pleasant and educational, not to mention that they have become a regular community gathering!

More than just a Wine Shop!
Besides our fabulous wine selection and wonderful wine gifts, the Winejester is an experience! There is always something cooking in the kitchen of this 1901 home converted to a wine shop and delightful music fills the air. The Winejester strives to be as welcoming and warm as we possibly can be to put you at ease and to make wine buying approachable, unpretentious and downright fun! Many times our customers and neighbors come in, not only to buy wine, but to socialize! This is a true neighborhood! (Of course, a few of us jesters can be as wine geeky as the best of them!)
Our Story
We focus on the small family owned and operated wineries. Having been in the wine industry for many years, we saw the direction in which the wine industry was moving: Large corporations dominating the market, buy outs of the independents, the continual push toward chain stores, discount box stores, sales quotas of the mass produced wines. We asked ourselves, who would tell the story of the little guy? What about the wine maker that does not have the resources to play for shelf placement or who gets ignored on the shelf of the massive liquor superstores? That and the opportunity to be of service to our customers is our reason for being!
